Privacy Policy
Last updated October 3, 2026
This policy explains what ashleymcpherson.com collects, how we use it and the choices you have. In short: we collect what we need to book and hold your call and to stay in touch, we don’t sell your information, and you can ask to see or delete it anytime.
Who we are
ashleymcpherson.com is the website of Ashley McPherson, based in Charleston, South Carolina. In this policy, “we,” “us” and “our” mean Ashley McPherson and the team that supports her work. Questions go to hi@ashleymcpherson.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- When you book a call: your name, email address and phone number, plus anything you choose to tell us about your business on the booking form.
- When you email or message us: what you send and your contact details.
- When you become a client: the details needed to deliver and bill the work, as set out in your service agreement.
Information collected automatically
- Our hosting provider records standard technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the site that sent you. These logs keep the site secure and running.
- The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads. Google’s privacy policy covers that use.
Calls
If we’d like to record or transcribe a call, including with an AI note-taking tool, we’ll ask you first, and you can say no.
How we use your information
- To schedule, confirm and hold your call, and to send reminders.
- To answer your questions and follow up on our conversation.
- To prepare proposals and deliver the services you hire us for.
- To send updates you’ve asked for. You can unsubscribe anytime.
- To keep the site secure, fix problems and understand how it’s used.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it to make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may text you about your call: confirmations, reminders and scheduling updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also email hi@ashleymcpherson.com.
We don’t sell, rent or share your mobile number or text messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of sharing in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information won’t be shared with any third parties.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it, then delete it or make it anonymous. Here’s how long we keep each kind:
- Booking details, emails and messages, if you don’t become a client: up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Client records, including proposals, agreements and invoices: 7 years after the work ends, for tax and legal purposes.
- Call recordings and transcripts, if you agree to them: up to 12 months, or sooner if you ask us to delete them.
- Text message consent and opt-out records: while you’re subscribed, then 4 years after you opt out, so we can show your choice was honored.
- Marketing email subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep only your email address on a do-not-contact list so we don’t email you again.
- Privacy requests and our responses: 24 months.
- Website server logs: up to 12 months, unless we need them longer to look into a security problem.
We may keep information longer when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.
How we protect it
We use these safeguards to protect your information:
- Encryption in transit: the site and our booking page use HTTPS (TLS), so what you send is encrypted on its way to us.
- Encryption at rest: the email, calendar and booking providers we use encrypt the information they store.
- Account security: the accounts that hold your information are password-protected, and only people who need access can sign in.
- Limited access: only people who need your information to do their work can see it.
- Up-to-date tools: we keep our software and devices updated and regularly review which tools hold personal information.
No website or online service is completely secure, so we can’t promise perfect security.
If there’s a data breach
If we learn of a security breach that affects your personal information, we’ll act quickly to contain it and find out what happened. We’ll notify you without unreasonable delay, and within the time the law requires, by email or another direct method. The notice will explain what happened, what information was involved, what we’re doing about it and what you can do to protect yourself.
We’ll also notify regulators and others when the law requires it, including notifying the relevant authority within 72 hours of learning of a breach where EU or UK data protection law applies.
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we have about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that’s wrong;
- delete your information;
- stop sending you marketing emails or texts (use the unsubscribe link, reply STOP, or email us).
Depending on your state, laws such as those in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Indiana, Kentucky and Rhode Island may give you more rights, including the right to opt out of the sale of your information or its use for targeted advertising. We do neither, and we’ll confirm that for you on request.
To make a request, email hi@ashleymcpherson.com with the subject “Privacy request.” We’ll confirm your identity, then respond within 45 days. You can use an authorized agent, and we won’t treat you differently for using your rights. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying with the subject “Privacy appeal,” and we’ll answer within the time the law allows. If you’re still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
Visitors outside the United States
We’re based in the United States, and your information is stored and used here. If you’re in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another region with data protection laws, we rely on your consent, the steps needed to provide a service you’ve asked for, our legitimate interest in running the business, or our legal obligations. You have the rights described above and can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
The site links to our booking page, social media profiles and other sites. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy as our tools or the law change, and the date at the top will show the latest version. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on the site or tell you directly.
